API Terms of Service

Effective: June 12, 2026  ·  Last reviewed: June 12, 2026

Overview

These API Terms of Service ("API Terms") govern your access to and use of Skylina's programmatic API ("API"). By using the Skylina API, you agree to be bound by these API Terms in addition to the Skylina Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these API Terms, do not access or use the API.

Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Skylina provides three API tiers with different uptime commitments:

Free Tier
Best-effort
No guaranteed uptime. Service may be unavailable during peak demand.
No SLA credits. General best-effort support via community forums.
Pro Tier
99.5%
Monthly uptime commitment. Excludes scheduled maintenance windows.
SLA credits: 10% credit for each 0.1% below 99.5% downtime, applied to next billing cycle.
Enterprise Tier
99.9%
Monthly uptime commitment with dedicated support and incident response.
SLA credits: 25% credit for each 0.1% below 99.9% downtime. Dedicated Slack channel for P1 incidents.

Rate Limits

Rate limits are applied per API key, per minute. Exceeded limits return HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header.

Free Tier

60

requests / minute

Pro Tier

300

requests / minute

Enterprise

Unlimited

subject to fair use

All responses include headers: X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, and X-RateLimit-Reset. Rate limits are calculated on a rolling 60-second window.

API Versioning

Skylina API uses URL-based versioning. The current stable version is v1.

Version support policy:

  • Current (v1) — fully supported, receives all new features and security patches.
  • Deprecated versions — maintained for 12 months after a newer version is released.
  • Retired versions — may be decommissioned with 90 days notice via email and the changelog.

Acceptable Use & Abuse Policy

You may not use the API in a way that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction.
  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights of Skylina or any third party.
  • Generates content that is illegal, harmful, deceptive, or promotes violence.
  • Attempts to circumvent rate limits or exploit API vulnerabilities.
  • Redistributes API outputs as a standalone competing service.
  • Uses the API to train a competing AI model or service.

Abuse may result in immediate suspension of API access, at Skylina's discretion. Enterprise customers receive written notice and 48 hours to remediate before suspension, except in cases of severe harm.
